KSLA Central Eastern’s 7th Annual Fall kickoff to literacy was a success.
Twelve Educators met a Cedar Crest College on 9/21/22 at 6:00 in the Cressman Library. We discussed Kelly Yang’s book, Front Desk, played Front Desk Bingo, and shared plans for a great year. Then we met author Kelly Yang, and she share her path as to how she became a great YA author. Her zoom presentation was delightful, educational, and very informative. Front Desk is on the banned book list, and we also learned the process of fighting this process from an author’s point of view and her struggles. However, this has not stopped Kelly she continues to write and make a difference in YA literature.
